{"id":592558,"date":"2025-11-25T09:47:22","date_gmt":"2025-11-25T09:47:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/592558\/"},"modified":"2025-11-25T09:47:22","modified_gmt":"2025-11-25T09:47:22","slug":"powys-llanidloes-dental-surgery-plans-approved-by-council","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/592558\/","title":{"rendered":"Powys: Llanidloes dental surgery plans approved by council"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n  Dr Piotr Dusza has been treating residents\u2019 teeth for more than two decades at the Llanidloes Dental Practice near Great Oak Street.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Powys County Council received a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.countytimes.co.uk\/topics\/planning-and-development\/?ref=ed_direct\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">planning application<\/a> in September from Dr Dusza asking for permission to convert an office on a business park on the outskirts of the town into a dental surgery.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <strong>More:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.countytimes.co.uk\/news\/25513496.dentist-looking-open-new-practice-powys-town\/?ref=ial\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Dentist looking to open new practice in Powys town<\/strong><\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  A planning statement explained that opening inside Unit 6C at Parc Derwen Fawr, near the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.countytimes.co.uk\/topics\/a470\/?ref=ed_direct\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">A470<\/a> trunk road and a 12-minute walk away from Llanidloes Dental Practice, would support Dr Dusza\u2019s ability to maintain the \u201cvital\u201d emergency dental care service for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.countytimes.co.uk\/news\/local\/llanidloes\/?ref=ed_direct\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Llanidloes<\/a> area.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.countytimes.co.uk\/topics\/powys-county-council\/?ref=ed_direct\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Powys County Council<\/a> was also told that establishing a new surgery would \u201csafeguard\u201d the availability of NHS dental care locally while creating capacity for additional services, including private treatments and a future dental hygienist.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  \u201cThis will help meet increasing demand and minimise the need for residents to travel outside the area for treatment,\u201d the statement added.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <img   width=\"100%\"\/>Llanidloes Dental Practice (Image: Anwen Parry)\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Last week, the council approved the proposed conversion of the office into a treatment room, waiting\/reception area, and ancillary staff facilities.
