Sally Dynevor<\/a> underwent a \u00a31,495 private full body scan over the weekend for \u2018peace of mind\u2019 over potential health issues.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Coronation<\/a> Street star, 62, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009\u00a0after finding a lump when she was 46.\u00a0<\/p>\n

At the time, her character on the soap,\u00a0Sally Metcalfe, was involved in a storyline where she also had the disease.<\/p>\n

The actress took six months off to have treatment and when the cancer spread to her lymph nodes, she had surgery to remove them, a lumpectomy and then chemotherapy.<\/p>\n

In a health update, shared to Instagram, Sally uploaded some photos before going in for the scan and detailed her reasoning.\u00a0<\/p>\n

She wrote: ‘After my journey with breast cancer I\u2019ve learned how powerful early detection is.\u00a0Health isn\u2019t something to take for granted.’<\/p>\n

Health tech pioneer Ezra has launched its screening service in the UK<\/a>, marking a major expansion beyond the US.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Sally is the latest in a string of celebrities who has undergone a full body check as she joins the likes of Holly Willoughby, Kim Kardashian and\u00a0Cindy Crawford.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Cancer Research UK reports a 24 per cent increase in cancer diagnoses among people in their 40s and 50s since 1995.<\/a><\/p>\n

Despite advances in treatment, nearly half of all cancer cases in the UK are still diagnosed at late stages, limiting treatment options and outcomes.<\/p>\n

Ezra say their mission is to shift this dynamic by making AI-powered early screening more accessible to those who may benefit from proactive monitoring of the disease.<\/p>\n

This includes those with a family history of cancer or who have other risk factors. With early detection, treatment can start earlier and prognosis improves dramatically.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The MRI scan currently takes about an hour, but experts say this could soon be reduced to just 15 minutes with the help of AI<\/p>\n

Scan results showing the brain, spine, pelvis and abdomen. Any abnormalities will be flagged to the patient, who can then take the scans to their GP for further investigation\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u2018Having witnessed the impact of late-stage cancer diagnosis in my own family, I understand the critical importance of early detection,\u2019 said Emi Gal, CEO and founder of Ezra<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u2018Our mission is to make comprehensive cancer screening fast, accurate and affordable.\u2019<\/p>\n

Ezra’s AI-powered scans currently last an hour and cover 13 organs, with the added option of an extra lung CT scan and heart disease screening.<\/p>\n

The AI technology has already significantly reduced scan times to just one hour and provided a scoring system to help doctors prioritise findings.<\/p>\n

A 13-organ full body scan currently costs \u00a31,495, with an option to add the spine for \u00a32,395 and a skeletal and neurological assessment for \u00a35,495.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But as it continues to advance, the time could be reduced to just a quarter of an hour \u2013 and it could eventually cut the cost of a full-body checkup under \u00a3400.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u2018What we\u2019re really trying to do is we\u2019re trying to help people find things before they have symptoms,\u2019 Mr Gal told MailOnline.<\/p>\n

\u2018Generally, if you have symptoms, it\u2019s too late. So really what you want to do is you want to find cancer before it\u2019s symptomatic when it\u2019s at its earliest stages, because that\u2019s when it\u2019s most curable.\u2019<\/p>\n

All scans are analysed by an Ezra doctor, with the help of AI, and any issues discussed with patients which can then be brought up with their own GP.<\/p>\n

\u2018So 6 per cent of our members have found possible cancer, and we have stories from members who found cancer, got treated and now they\u2019re cancer-free,\u2019 Mr Gal explained.<\/p>\n

\u2018I think there\u2019s a future in which we have a 15-minute, $500 (\u00a3379) scan available to everyone.\u2019<\/p>\n

Prenuvo, is one of a growing number of health startups offering $2,500 MRIs they say can detect\u00a0cancer<\/a>\u00a0and other chronic diseases years before symptoms even begin.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It featured in a sponsored post on Kim’s Instagram page, where she described it as\u00a0‘lifesaving<\/a>‘.<\/p>\n

Dr Daniel Durand, a radiologist and Prenuvo’s chief medical officer, told AP: ‘We\u2019re trying to give people the opportunity to be more proactive about their health.’<\/p>\n

‘The Prenuvo full-body scan has the ability to detect cancer and diseases such as aneurysms in its earliest stages, before symptoms arise,’ she wrote on Instagram. ‘It has really saved one of my friends [sic] lives and I just wanted to share.’<\/p>\n
