As Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor<\/a> and Sarah Ferguson’s<\/a> relationship to the late paedophile Jeffrey Epstein<\/a> continues to emerge, their daughter Princess Beatrice<\/a> turned heads with a decision which reportedly surprised Prince William<\/a> and Princess Catherine<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The royal hosted an event at Riyadh\u2019s Ritz-Carlton hotel in Saudi Arabia on October 27, which was billed as an “afternoon tea with Princess Beatrice<\/a> of York”. The move raised eyebrows as her father’s links to the country were well-known during his ten-year tenure as the UK’s special representative for International Trade and Investment.<\/p>\n

The event, which occurred amid her parents’ scandals stemming from their ties to disgraced American financier Jeffrey Epstein, also reportedly came as a surprise to the Prince and Princess of Wales.<\/p>\n

A source told Closer Magazine<\/a>: “It was seen as tone-deaf, especially given the venue\u2019s reputation and the recent controversies surrounding Andrew and Sarah. William and Kate were genuinely upset when the pictures emerged. They have been very supportive of Beatrice and Eugenie and hope now that they will tow the Palace line.<\/p>\n

“The Palace has made it crystal clear \u2013 every appearance must now be approved and vetted by senior aides before anyone gives it the go-ahead. There\u2019s now a push inside the Palace to impose an \u201coffice-style\u201d approval system on Beatrice and Eugenie\u2019s future activities \u2013 to ensure there\u2019s no repeat of such headlines. They can\u2019t risk another scandal linked to the York name.”<\/p>\n
