Disgraced ex-Prince Andrew has really lost his \u201cway\u201d \u2014 a UK street named Prince Andrew Way, that is.<\/p>\n
The street, located in Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland, will be renamed following a vote from town leaders over the royal\u2019s ties to sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, which led to him being humiliatingly stripped of his last remaining official titles last month<\/a> and left with his commoner name, Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.<\/p>\n The signs have already been vandalized, with photos showing one with the \u201cPrince\u201d spray-painted over.<\/p>\n The road, which hosts several homes and businesses in the idyllic County Antrim town, was named to honor Andrew\u2019s marriage to his wife Sarah Feruson in 1986, according to the BBC<\/a>.<\/p>\n Councillor Aaron Skinner said he has \u201cspoken with many residents who feel deeply uneasy about continuing to honour Andrew Mountbatten in this way.\u201d<\/p>\n Prince Andrew Way will be changed after a vote from town leaders in Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland. Getty Images<\/p>\n \u201cThere is a strong belief that he no longer reflects the values of our community,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Councillor Anna Henry added that the motion is \u201csad and necessary \u2026given the serious cloud\u201d that hangs over Andrew\u2019s association with the notorious sex criminal.<\/p>\n Some of the street name replacement proposals Skinner told the BBC he\u2019s heard from locals included Princess Catherine Way, after Prince William\u2019s wife, and Queen Elizabeth Way after the late queen, who died in 2022.<\/p>\n \u201cI know it needs to be changed,\u201d a woman who only gave her name as Denise told the BBC in Carrickfergus.<\/p>\n Andrew was stripped of his royal titles last month.
