(Image: Newsquest)\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The council has responded to Kevin\u2019s concerns, saying it is aware of the problem but cannot clear the waste due to the area being privately owned.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  \u201cIt\u2019s ridiculous. Our bins don&#8217;t get emptied because the guys can&#8217;t get past the rubbish,\u201d Kevin said. \u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  \u201cThere is organic waste in there and hundreds of rats. Our area is pretty clean, but at the other end of the road it\u2019s the apocalypse.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  \u201cThe council said they won\u2019t clean it up. They said it\u2019s down to the tenants. I personally think it\u2019s partly fly tipping and partly the businesses in the area, because there is a lot of food waste there. \u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  \u201cYou can tell it\u2019s not household waste because it\u2019s commercial food waste.\u201d\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Mike Bell, leader of North Somerset Council and cabinet member for strategic partnerships, finance, digital and corporate services,\u00a0said the council is working to fix the problem, but is limited in its powers due to the centre being on private land.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  \u201cWe are aware of the problem and are working to find a sustainable solution to the issue,\u201d he said.\u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  \u201cThe Centre is private land so there are limitations on what action we can take as the council. \u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  \u201cWe have cleared this up several times before and worked with landowners but it hasn\u2019t led to a lasting improvement. \u00a0\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <img   width=\"100%\"\/>The council has responded to Kevin\u2019s concerns, saying it is aware of the problem but cannot clear the waste due to the area being privately owned.
