Liverpool were crowned Premier League champions on Sunday afternoon when they thrashed Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield<\/a>. Arne Slot\u2019s side knew heading into the game that a point was all that was required to secure the title.<\/p>\n

Thousands arrived early to welcome the Liverpool<\/a> team bus, and confidence was high that the Reds would secure the positive result needed. However, Dominic Solanke threw a spanner in the works when he headed Tottenham ahead.<\/p>\n

But Liverpool responded through Luis Diaz before Alexis Mac Allister<\/a> swung the game in Liverpool\u2019s favour when he fired his side ahead.<\/p>\n

Cody Gakpo, Mohamed Salah<\/a> and an own goal from Destiny Udogie sealed a comfortable 5-1 win, with wild scenes greeting the full-time whistle.<\/p>\n

Liverpool have four more games remaining this season, and the sides they play face the prospect of having to give them a guard of honour.<\/p>\n

It is customary for the Premier League<\/a> champions to receive a guard of honour when crowned champions before the final day of the season, although it isn’t officially compulsory.<\/p>\n

That means Liverpool could first receive a guard of honour from Chelsea<\/a>, who they take on at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n

The Reds then welcome Arsenal, their closest title challengers this season, to Anfield<\/a> before taking on Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex.<\/p>\n

Liverpool conclude their campaign with a home game against Crystal Palace, and following the conclusion of that match, they will be presented with the title.<\/p>\n

Reflecting on the title win, Reds boss Slot said<\/a>: “Very, very happy, of course, but to a certain extent also quite unreal because you work so hard for this moment to happen and when it then does happen, it needs some time for you to truly feel it.<\/p>\n
