Firefighters have come under attack for a second consecutive night after responding to calls in west Belfast.<\/p>\n
Stones were thrown at Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) staff as they responded to reports of a bin on fire in the Carrigart Avenue area of Lenadoon at around 6.30pm on Monday November 24. <\/p>\n
No damage or injuries were reported on this occasion.<\/p>\n
Then today (November 25) glass bottles were thrown at NIFRS staff while responding to reports of a fire on open ground in the nearby Glenties Drive area.<\/p>\n

Damage was caused to the bodywork of a fire engine during the most recent incident. No injuries have been reported.<\/p>\n
NIFRS Inspector Stewart said: \u201cThis is a serious issue, which could have resulted in severe injuries.<\/p>\n
“I would appeal to those involved to stop and think about the potentially devastating consequence of such actions.<\/p>\n
“Please remember that emergency services provide a support service to everyone. Firefighters put their lives at risk to keep individuals, families and communities safe.<\/p>\n
