Leeds United<\/a> are in the relegation zone and require a decision to be made soon on Daniel Farke\u2019s position as manager.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Having served up two terrible performances on the road, Leeds returned to Elland Road on Sunday in need of an improvement against Aston Villa.<\/p>\n

United were better in the first half. But, let their lead slip for the second game running<\/a> as a fairly uninspiring Aston Villa ground out victory.<\/p>\n

The problems for Daniel Farke have become even more pronounced this week. Prior to Villa, he was defiant in his work as Leeds hadn\u2019t dropped into the bottom three and were on track for a point per-game. However, Leeds did slip into the relegation zone 24 hours later<\/a> and didn\u2019t respond in their game.<\/p>\n

Losing to Aston Villa leaves Leeds now playing catchup with a horrific set of fixtures to follow until January<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Athletic\u2019s Beren Cross<\/a> has shared how Farke faces the most scrutiny he\u2019s ever seen since taking over as Leeds manager. The worry for the 49ers is how this season could unravel and lead to relegation.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor one, the jeopardy is far greater [in the PL compared to EFL]. There were tiny pockets of poor form (there were three six-game streaks that generated one win) in the second tier with the German, but it never felt like promotion was definitively slipping away. However now, relegation, and the financial oblivion that represents, is a real and present danger in 2026.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Unfortunately, our form is only going one way at the moment. We got 11 points from our first 11 games. However, that\u2019s turned out to have been a favourable set of fixtures that we should have done better in.<\/p>\n

Now, we\u2019ve got a much, much tougher block of games where it\u2019s hard to see how we turn it around in the same manner as West Ham and Nottingham Forest<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The main question I have is: do the 49ers still think Farke is the man to achieve survival<\/a>? If relegation brings real peril for the club\u2019s finances, they should be doing anything and everything to stop it happening.<\/p>\n

In the same way players are replaced after promotion because they\u2019re less suited to the Premier League, the same can surely be said of managers. Farke is a specialist in the Championship. But in this league, it\u2019s a completely different story that we\u2019re watching play out in front of our eyes.<\/p>\n
