Plans to breathe new life into The Mill Youth Centre in Easton<\/a> have taken a significant step forward, with details emerging of a major development including 38 affordable housing units, a new indoor sports hall, and an extension to the existing gymnasium.<\/p>\n The proposals, submitted by Sovereign Network Group, form part of a wider plan originally approved.<\/p>\n The current application seeks to satisfy a condition which required the submission of a comprehensive Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP) prior to work commencing.<\/p>\n The site on Lower Ashley Road is earmarked for substantial redevelopment. These include noise and dust control, vehicle movement planning, and community engagement strategies.<\/p>\n Work will take place strictly between 8am and 6pm on weekdays, and 8am to 1pm on Saturdays, with no operations on Sundays or bank holidays unless specifically authorised.<\/p>\n A particular focus has been placed on minimising disruption to local residents.<\/p>\n Deliveries are scheduled to avoid peak times, while a dedicated Community Co-ordinator will liaise with neighbours to address concerns as they arise. \u201cWe are confident the contractor and project team will quickly form relationships with residents and the wider community,\u201d the report states.<\/p>\n The proposal also incorporates sustainability-focused initiatives. Waste will be separated and tracked to divert 95% from landfill, while dust will be controlled via dampening measures and on-tool extraction.<\/p>\n Traffic management plans include pedestrian safety provisions and designated delivery routes, avoiding residential streets where possible.<\/p>\n The site will also be part of the Considerate Constructors Scheme, which encourages best practice in construction through independent assessment.<\/p>\n The plan notes, \u201cMain contractors on SNG\u2019s framework are Considerate Constructor Partners and register each of their project sites with the scheme.\u201d<\/p>\n This construction phase, including all environmental protections and logistical arrangements, is outlined in great detail in the CEMP submitted by Sovereign.
