{"id":59463,"date":"2025-04-29T06:13:09","date_gmt":"2025-04-29T06:13:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/59463\/"},"modified":"2025-04-29T06:13:09","modified_gmt":"2025-04-29T06:13:09","slug":"traffic-restrictions-at-three-more-schools-in-birmingham","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/59463\/","title":{"rendered":"Traffic restrictions at three more schools in Birmingham"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.birmingham.gov.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Birmingham City Council<\/a> says the car free school streets scheme aims to improve air pollution, reduce congestion and make it safer to walk or cycle to school.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cotteridgeprimary.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cotteridge Primary<\/a>, The Oval School in Yardley and Whitehouse Common Primary in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.expressandstar.com\/news\/local-hubs\/birmingham\/sutton-coldfield\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sutton Coldfield<\/a> became the latest schools to join the initiative as part of its fifth phase \u2013 bringing the total number of schools involved to more than 20.<\/p>\n<p>It means motor traffic is prevented from driving on particular roads near the schools at certain times in the morning and afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>The council has said it will consider in due course whether the changes should be made permanent.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/48b48eeb-6f3e-4bc8-80bd-76c76b1358b6.jpeg\"   alt=\"Birmingham City Council House.
