A man has been jailed for his role in orchestrating a large-scale cannabis operation<\/a> worth \u00a33.8m across Scotland.<\/p>\n Afrim Krasniqi, 29, ran 12 cultivations in the Glasgow, Edinburgh, Penicuik, Aberdeen, Ayrshire and Angus areas. The cultivations <\/a>were discovered in both residential and commercial properties and were estimated to have a street value of nearly \u00a34m .<\/p>\n Krasniqi pleaded guilty to his involvement in the plot at the High Court in Edinburgh<\/a> last week. He was jailed for five years at the same court on Tuesday.<\/p>\n Detective Constable Karen Maxwell said: “The scale of this criminal operation was substantial<\/a>, and Krasniqi is now facing the consequences of his actions.<\/p>\n “This case demonstrates our commitment to the Serious and Organised Crime Taskforce and the country’s Serious and Organised Crime Strategy in identifying and dismantling organised networks <\/a>involved in the supply and production of drugs.<\/p>\n “This type of criminality is not a victimless crime. Organised crime groups often rely on the exploitation of vulnerable people to support their activity, and it can cause extensive damage to the properties they operate <\/a>from, as well as have a detrimental impact on the communities within which they are active.”<\/p>\n
