Dr Martens\u00a0has\u00a0been\u00a0making iconic shoes since the brand\u2019s\u00a0first legendary boot\u00a0was made\u00a0in the UK in\u00a01960. Selling for just \u00a32 at the time, now Docs, with\u00a0their\u00a0signature yellow thread and chunky soles, are instantly recognisable.\u00a0Sixty-five years later the brand\u00a0isn\u2019t going anywhere, and Dr Martens has just opened its biggest ever UK flagship in central London.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The renowned shoemaker has just launched its first \u2018beacon store\u2019, a huge flagship\u00a0at\u00a039 Brewer Street in Soho. Set over two floors with\u00a03,400 square-feet of space, this is Dr Martens largest store in Britain to date.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Inside, shoppers will be able to cop all the latest DM fashion collaborations, the classic styles and\u00a0in-store exclusive silhouettes. The store\u00a0is arranged into different sections: Made in England, a space dedicated to\u00a0Northamptonshire craftsmanship;\u00a0The Shed,\u00a0a\u00a0rotating pop-up for exclusive collaboration drops; the Icons Wall, reserved for the\u00a0four OG styles including the\u00a01460 boot, 1461 shoe, 2976 Chelsea Boot and Adrian loafer; and a section dedicated to leather accessories.<\/p>\n

The shop also features\u00a0the Alt Craft Bar, where\u00a0shoe-holics can have their DMs customised or restored\u00a0or visit the\u00a0rotating lineup of specialist \u2018crafters in residence\u2019.\u00a0<\/p>\n

If all the shopping tires you out, you can visit the Doctors Orders in-store caf\u00e9, which has eats supplied by Dusty Knuckle and Luminary Bakery. The flagship will also feature a programme of creative events and partnerships with different craftspeople. So far the line-up includes\u00a0record collective Dash The Henge, drawing community Paperweight Club, spoken word artist John James Holt and art-meets-fashion design studio Second Best.<\/p>\n
