Arne Slot needs to prove his managerial skills to avoid the sack after Liverpool dropped into the bottom half of the Premier League table.<\/strong><\/p>\n

That is according to ex-Aberdeen and Everton and Aston Villa chief executive Keith Wyness, who speaking exclusively to\u00a0Football Insider<\/strong> has asked questions of Slot\u2019s ability to motivate his squad.<\/p>\n

Liverpool lost 3-0 to Nottingham Forest<\/a> in their first game back after the international break, which made it seven defeats in 10 matches for the Reds.<\/p>\n

Slot won the Premier League title in his first season at Liverpool<\/a>, but hopes of defending the crown are quickly evaporating, with leaders Arsenal<\/a> 11 points ahead in the table.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Everton\u2019s former chief\u00a0Keith Wyness<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs\u00a0\u2013 insists that Liverpool\u2019s current bad run of form comes down to Slot\u2019s man management skills.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the new edition of\u00a0Football Insider<\/strong>\u2019s Inside Track podcast<\/a>, Wyness thinks the Dutchman is under pressure at the club to turn results around.<\/p>\n

He told\u00a0Football Insider<\/strong>\u2018s Inside Track podcast: \u201cIt has been\u00a0a very bad\u00a0run for\u00a0them,\u00a0there\u2019s\u00a0no doubt about it. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u00a0think this was their joint heaviest defeat at Anfield in the club\u2019s history. And\u00a0that\u2019s\u00a0something that people sit up and take notice\u00a0of\u00a0because\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0not going right for them. And it was the style of the\u00a0performance\u00a0that was the problem. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt certainly is, I think, resting a lot on Slot and his man management skills. Nobody can say he\u00a0hasn\u2019t\u00a0been supported.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cBut nevertheless,\u00a0it is\u00a0going to be a lot of questions about his ability\u00a0to motivate the squad and get them going. There does not seem to be a lot of happiness in that squad and a lot of fight and unity.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cSo\u00a0I think it does come down to the manager and the pressure is on.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Slot still holds the backing of the Liverpool hierarchy<\/a> with no sack verdict set to be delivered in the immediate future.<\/p>\n

However, Liverpool now enter a favourable run of fixtures which could heap even more pressure on Slot if this poor run of form was to continue.<\/p>\n

There are problems to contend with in defence, but Liverpool will not target a right-back in January<\/a> even with injuries to Jeremie Frimpong and Conor Bradley.<\/p>\n
