A coach has been ejected from a youth football league after posting a drugs menu into his team\u2019s coaching group chat. <\/p>\n
The message, sent this morning, featured a list of prices for Class A drug cocaine and detailed time and location availabilities. <\/p>\n
The west Belfast side coaches kids aged eight and under.<\/p>\n
A spokesman for the Fonacab Development League told the Belfast Telegraph that they have triggered their \u201csafeguarding procedures.\u201d <\/p>\n
The spokesman said: \u201cAs a development league, we do not employ coaches and therefore cannot sack anyone.<\/p>\n
“We have already informed the relevant club from west Belfast involved and our safeguarding procedures have been activated, with the coach removed from the fixtures group. The matter is now being dealt through the appropriate channels.\u201d<\/p>\n

Internal communications in the team group chat seen by the Belfast Telegraph noted a senior figure recognising the act as \u201ccompletely unacceptable.\u201d<\/p>\n
The statement from the league continued: \u201cAny involvement in promotion or association with illegal activity has no place whatsoever in this league, in our coaching groups or around young players.\u201d<\/p>\n
In another statement on social media, a spokesman for the Fonacab Development League posted: \u201cAs a League, we cannot monitor or control every message shared between coaches when organising fixtures or availability.<\/p>\n
\u201cHowever, we do have clear expectations of behaviour, and any conduct that breaches safeguarding or professionalism will be addressed immediately.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur responsibility is to protect the wellbeing of every child and uphold the values the League is built on.<\/p>\n
