WASHINGTON (TNND) \u2014 Turning Point USA will throw its support behind Vice President J.D. Vance for president in 2028, according to Erika Kirk.<\/p>\n
When Kirk was on the Megyn Kelly Channel, she said that there are efforts \u201cin the works\u201d to support Vance if he runs for president in the future.<\/p>\n
Erika\u2019s husband Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, was assassinated earlier this year while he was speaking at an event at Utah Valley University.<\/p>\n
Erika, Charlie Kirk\u2019s widow, took over as the CEO after her husband\u2019s death.<\/p>\n
Erika said one of her last conversations with Charlie was about \u201chow intentional he was about supporting JD for \u201928,\u2019\u201d according to The Hill newspaper.<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cLet\u2019s start with the midterms before we start jumping to \u201928,\u201d Erika said. \u201cAnd let\u2019s enjoy the fact that we do have Donald Trump in office, and we worked really hard to make that happen, my husband did.\u201d<\/p>\n Earlier this year, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that Vance would be a good presidential candidate for 2028<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cWell, I think JD Vance would be a great nominee … if he decides he wants to do that,\u201d Rubio said during an interview with Lara Trump. \u201cAnd so … I think he\u2019s doing a great job as vice president.
