Jake Paul made a head-scratching comparison between his upcoming boxing return and Paddy Pimblett\u2019s win over Michael Chandler.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Controversial boxing star Jake Paul<\/a>\u2018s latest claims about his upcoming return to the ring are turning heads.<\/p>\n

Paul is set to face Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.<\/a>, the son of a boxing icon, on June 28th in Anaheim. He returns for the first time since defeating heavyweight boxing legend, Mike Tyson<\/a>, in November by unanimous decision.<\/p>\n

While Chavez is a former world champion with a 54-6-1 professional record, many believe he\u2019s well past his physical prime for the Paul matchup. Chavez hasn\u2019t competed since a win over former UFC middleweight contender Uriah Hall<\/a> last July.<\/p>\n

Since Paul and Most Valuable Promotions announced the polarizing boxer\u2019s next fight, the matchup has drawn mixed reactions from the general public. In response, Paul compared his upcoming fight to Paddy Pimblett<\/a>\u2018s dominant win over Michael Chandler<\/a> at UFC 314.<\/p>\n

In a recent video posted to the Most Valuable Promotions<\/a> social media accounts, Paul hit back at his detractors.<\/p>\n

\u201cJulio Cesar Chavez Jr. is a former world champion, a cruiserweight world champion,\u201d Paul said. \u201cThe same weight as me, the same size as me, and 20 years more pro boxing experience than me. For you inbreds, let\u2019s get the excuses out of the way.<\/p>\n

\u201cLast week, Paddy Pimblett beat Michael Chandler, and the whole world lost their mind, but not a single person mentioned Michael Chandler\u2019s age. That\u2019s because he\u2019s still within his prime ages, the same age as Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf people didn\u2019t have a problem with Paddy, then why do they have a problem with me? When I beat him, don\u2019t even try to cry about his age.\u201d (h\/t MMA Fighting<\/a>)<\/p>\n

It didn\u2019t take long for fight fans to roast Paul\u2019s claims in the comments.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo one cares about Jake Paul. He\u2019s fading out,\u201d one fan responded.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut he hasn\u2019t been in the ring for awhile and is way older than u? If you want credit soo d\u2014 bad why didn\u2019t u rematch Tommy Fury? Same age as you,\u201d another said.<\/p>\n

Paul\u2019s strength of boxing opponents has irked many fans during his career. During his 11-1 tenure in the ring, he\u2019s defeated former UFC stars Tyron Woodley<\/a>, Anderson Silva<\/a>, and Nate Diaz<\/a>, and several other names with little boxing experience.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Chavez gave Canelo Alvarez<\/a> a formidable challenge earlier in their boxing careers, with Alvarez walking away with a unanimous decision victory. In a recent social media post announcing the fight, Paul blasted Alvarez<\/a> for allegedly failing to beat Chavez in dominant fashion.<\/p>\n

The problem? Alvarez won the fight on the judges\u2019 scorecards by a considerable margin, forcing X\u2018s community notes feature to fact check Paul.<\/p>\n

Chavez picked the Paul fight<\/a> over a clash with one of his opponent\u2019s YouTube boxing rivals, KSI. KSI was supposed to face controversial combat sports star Dillon Danis<\/a> in a boxing match earlier this year before withdrawing due to an illness, and has since hinted at retirement<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Before the Chavez fight announcement, Paul was briefly in talks to face Anthony Joshua<\/a> in the ring, despite a significant size difference. Fight talks with Alvarez were in the final stages before Riyadh Season and Turki Alalshikh signed Alvarez to a mega deal.<\/p>\n
