Ruth Codd, who recently appeared on Celebrity Traitors, has announced she’s undergone a second below-the-knee amputation on her left leg. The Irish actress<\/a>, who had her right leg amputated below the knee at 23, underwent the procedure after a football injury from when she was 15 never properly healed, resulting in years of severe pain and numerous operations. She has now had the identical procedure on her other leg.<\/p>\n

The 29-year-old<\/a> rose to prominence through TikTok videos discussing her disability and other topics, before landing roles in Netflix’s The Midnight Club and The Fall of the House of Usher, despite having no prior acting background.<\/p>\n

In a recent TikTok video filmed at her parents’ house, she revealed the news of her latest surgery. With her characteristic humour, Ruth<\/a> told her audience: “Hi guys. So, I have some good news and some bad news.”<\/p>\n

Ruth – whose TikTok username is ‘ruthcoddsnotdead’ – continued: “Good news – we’ve had a full circle moment. I’m back making TikTok content in my parents’ house.”, reports the Mirror<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“Bad news – I can’t do it in front of that lovely blue floral wallpaper any more, due to the fact that that room is upstairs. I’ve just had my second below-knee amputation. So, unfortunately, those facilities are not available to me at the current moment in time. So a lot to unpack there for everyone involved.”<\/p>\n

Although she didn’t disclose the reason for her second surgery, Ruth gave her followers a glimpse of her new wheelchair, which she humorously named ‘Fat Tony’, adding: “She has the top speed of f*** all, especially if there’s a step involved.”<\/p>\n

Her fans were quick to respond with comments, echoing Ruth’s trademark sarcastic humour. One quipped: “But I was only here for the floral wallpaper!” Another said: “Look babes, we all want a second season of Midnight Club – but taking the 2nd leg is a bit far,” to which Ruth responded: “@netflix you see what I mean?”.<\/p>\n

Rahul Kohli, Ruth’s co-star in The Fall of the House of Usher, said: “Excuses, excuses.”<\/p>\n

This led Ruth to retort: “How do I block someone twice?”.<\/p>\n

Some followers were left puzzled if they watched without sound, as TikTok’s captions had misinterpreted Ruth saying ‘second bologna amputation’ instead of ‘below-knee amputation’.<\/p>\n

“Is this a joke?” one TikTok user innocently enquired. Another helpfully clarified: “She’s saying ‘Below knee amputation’ not ‘Bologna knee amputation’ which it says in the captions – Bologna being a city in Italy.”<\/p>\n

A third added: “A Bologna amputation is no laughing matter.”<\/p>\n

Another follower chimed in: “Ruth you gotta tell us which Paralympic event you’re participating in so we can tune in.”<\/p>\n

She cleverly replied: “Rhythmic gymnastics,” before adding: “Guys stop being nice to me it’s weirding me out.”<\/p>\n

Ruth recently featured as a contestant on Celebrity Traitors and was selected to be a Faithful.
