Things are changing at London Heathrow.\u00a0The UK\u2019s biggest airport is\u00a0about to begin a multi-billion pound renovation<\/a> which will add 10 football pitches worth of new retail<\/a> and lounge space,\u00a0and it\u2019s set to get\u00a0a new runway by 2035. While we wait for all that, however, British Airways (BA) has announced new routes out of the airport next summer.<\/p>\n

BA\u2019s expanded Heathrow flight network includes two brand-new destinations. One of those is\u00a0Tivat<\/strong>, a small coastal town in Montenegro which is best known for being\u00a0an upmarket holiday spot. According to the airline, Tivat is ideal for anyone seeking clear blue waters, \u2018stunning coastlines and year-round sunshine\u2019.<\/p>\n

BA flights from Heathrow to Tivat will\u00a0start on May 14, 2026, and they\u2019ll run three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays during peak season. Return tickets\u00a0will start\u00a0from around \u00a3172 per person.<\/p>\n

Guernsey<\/strong> is the second destination being offered to Heathrow customers next summer. At present, there are no direct flights between the UK\u2019s largest airport and the Channel Island, but from May 19 BA will change that. Flights will be offered daily,\u00a0all year long, with round-trip tickets starting\u00a0at \u00a3101 per person.<\/p>\n

With the addition of Tivat and Guernsey, there are now nearly 100 short-haul routes on British Airways\u2019 Heathrow schedule.<\/p>\n

These aren\u2019t the only changes that BA has announced for next year<\/a>.\u00a0The national carrier is also going to start running direct flights to Bangkok in the off season, as well as increasing the frequency of planes heading to Doha, Miami, Las Vegas and more.\u00a0BA\u00a0has also scrapped its Gatwick-New York service, offering trips between the Big Apple and the Big Smoke exclusively from Heathrow \u2013 you can read more about that here<\/a>.<\/p>\n
