Manchester United talent Harry Amass is in the tail end of his Sheffield Wednesday loan spell and an update has emerged around his future at the Championship side.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sheffield Wednesday signed Harry Amass<\/a> on deadline day and the 18-year-old Manchester United<\/a> left-back\u2019s loan deal with the club will expire in January.<\/p>\n

Amass, who is viewed as the heir-apparent to United left-back Luke Shaw<\/a> at Old Trafford<\/a>, has impressed during his spell at the Hillsborough Stadium so far.<\/p>\n

The on-loan United youth academy<\/a> product has made 13 appearances in the Championship in the 2025-26 season and has netted once for Sheffield Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Amass has started in all 13 of his performances for Sheffield Wednesday and the United talent has been afforded the invaluable chance to secure first-team minutes.<\/p>\n

According to reports, Manchester United and Sheffield Wednesday had agreed to an extension of Harry Amass\u2019 stay at the Hillsborough Stadium for the current season.<\/p>\n

However, the Sheffield Star\u2019s Alex Miller has now explained that no current agreement \u2013 at the time of writing \u2013 has been struck over Amass\u2019 future.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think so, and there sort of were reports that [it] had been already agreed [but] that that\u2019s not my understanding,\u201d he told the \u2018United! United! United!\u2019<\/a> YouTube channel.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think, you know, that there is an acceptance at both ends of the deal and from the player himself that things are going really well. You know, in terms of his development.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut there is a little way to go in terms of renewing that loan and the term, you know, we spoke on the show previously about the terms [for] Harry and what United are contributing to that loan.\u201d<\/p>\n

Alex Miller added that the situation around Amass is also complex because of a potential takeover for the club after it fell into administration in October.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut there is a period of uncertainty now in that Sheffield Wednesday don\u2019t know who their owners are going to be,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd they don\u2019t know what\u2019s going to be available and what direction those owners may want things to take.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, I think until that is clearer, not necessarily \u2018til it\u2019s done and dusted, but until that\u2019s a little clearer, it\u2019s difficult to sort that loan out.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ruben Amorim<\/a> allowed Amass to leave Old Trafford and has been mainly relying on Patrick Dorgu<\/a> and Diogo Dalot<\/a> as his main left wing-back options this season.<\/p>\n
