John Eimen, ‘Leave it to Beaver’ actor, dies<\/p>\n

Remembering John Eimen, the beloved ‘Leave it to Beaver’ actor who passed away at 76 after battling prostate cancer.<\/p>\n

John Eimen, a former child star known for his guest spot in “Leave it to Beaver,”<\/a>\u00a0died Friday, Nov. 21, a representative confirmed. He was 76.<\/p>\n

Eimen died at his home in Mukilteo, Washington, from prostate cancer<\/a>, publicist Harlan Boll confirmed to USA TODAY. Eimen learned of his cancer diagnosis in September.<\/p>\n

Between the late ’50s and\u00a0throughout the ’60s, Eimen grew his portfolio, costarring in the children’s sitcom “McKeever and the\u00a0Colonel”\u00a0as Cadet Monk Roberts. He also racked up guest\u00a0appearances in shows like “The Twilight Zone<\/a>.”\u00a0“Have Gun\u2014Will Travel,” “The Untouchables,” “Wagon\u00a0Train,”\u00a0“Petticoat Junction,” “Bachelor Father,”\u00a0“The Rebel,”\u00a0“The Lloyd Bridges\u00a0Show” and\u00a0“Wendy and Me.”\u00a0<\/p>\n

Eimen was discovered by an agent in his Los Angeles-area classroom before he was 10 years old. He began working at 6, marking his television debut as a classmate of Theodore Cleaver in the\u00a0premiere episode of\u00a0“Leave It\u00a0to Beaver.”<\/a>\u00a0He went on to guest star on the show intermittently throughout its run.<\/p>\n

In addition to acting, Eimen was also a model. His\u00a0young face, red-headed\u00a0and freckled, gained national prominence when he\u00a0appeared with a white milky\u00a0mustache in national print advertising for the Carnation Company, a maker of\u00a0dairy-related products.<\/p>\n

Eimen transitioned to a career in music in adulthood, working as a guitarist and songwriter. He later moved to Japan, where he met his wife, Midori. He spent more than a decade teaching English and\u00a0performing his music in clubs and on Japanese\u00a0television.<\/p>\n

Eimen moved back to the\u00a0U.S. with his family in the mid-’90s, first settling in West Seattle\u00a0and later\u00a0relocating to Mukilteo, about 20 miles north of Seattle. He then began his\u00a0final career chapter, spending\u00a025 years as a flight attendant on international routes\u00a0for a major U.S. airline, aided by his fluent\u00a0Japanese, according to Boll. He retired from\u00a0the airline at 71 in 2020.<\/p>\n
