London goes all out for Christmas<\/a>. Now that we\u2019re just four weeks away from the big day, dozens of\u00a0Christmas markets<\/a>\u00a0have popped up across the city, hundreds of thousands of Christmas lights<\/a> have been switched on and pantos\u00a0have begun<\/a>.\u00a0Add London\u2019s embrace of the festive season\u00a0to that the fact that\u00a0it\u2019s is home to some of the finest hotels in the world<\/a>, and it\u2019s no surprise that one of our luxury\u00a0establishments\u00a0was just named the most Christmassy hotel in all of Europe.\u00a0<\/p>\n

We enlisted the help of travel writer and Christmas fanatic Clara Hogan to help us curate a list of Europe\u2019s most festive hotels for 2025. Opulent institutions in Paris, Rome, Vienna and Switzerland all made the cut, but\u00a0the number one\u00a0spot went to London\u2019s very own\u00a0Claridge\u2019s<\/a>.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Clara said: \u2018Claridge\u2019s has been a Mayfair institution for over a century, and at Christmas it\u2019s at its best. Art Deco marble gleams underneath garlands, afternoon teas are served beneath twinkling lights, and the atmosphere is so royal you half expect William or Kate to stroll past (it wouldn\u2019t be the first time).\u2019<\/p>\n

The hotel runs a three-night festive package that runs from December 23 or 24 and includes mince pies and carrots for kids to place on the mantlepiece, a visit from Father Christmas and his elves, carol singing, a horse-drawn carriage ride around Mayfair and, of course, a hearty Christmas lunch.<\/p>\n

But the best thing about the luxury hotel at this time of year is its famous Christmas tree display<\/a>, which has become a cultural event in itself. Every year, the tree in the lobby is decorated by a leading fashion designer.\u00a0Louis Vuitton, Diane Von Furstenberg, Jimmy Choo and Dior artistic director Kim Jones have all had their turn, and for 2025, it\u2019s been designed by Burberry\u2019s\u00a0Daniel Lee.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The 16ft fir, which was revealed on November 25, is adorned with 600 bows made from surplus Burberry fabric,\u00a0hanging bells, thistles and chess-piece ornaments inspired by the brand\u2019s Equestrian Knight.\u00a0<\/p>\n

You don\u2019t\u00a0splash out \u00a3800 on a room hotel in order to see the installation, it\u2019s open for any member of the public to come in and admire.\u00a0\u00a0Our top tip is to book the hotel\u2019s festive afternoon tea (featuring Christmas pudding, black forest Christmas tree far and roast turkey sandwiches) in advance, and if you\u2019re after a picture of the tree, go early in the morning\u00a0to avoid the crowd.\u00a0<\/p>\n
