The city truly comes to life under the glow of glimmering Christmas lights, with festive decorations festooning every visible surface of the capital. But one spot is making a claim for the most magical Christmas sight in town, thanks to the unveiling of a new Harry Potter Christmas tree.

Over in King’s Cross station, an impressive 31-foot-tall Christmas tree has landed. But this is no ordinary tree. Instead, this tree pays homage to one of the most beloved franchises in the world. The tree hides a treasure trove of Easter eggs (Christmas eggs?) for fans to discover. There’s even a Honeydukes confectionery counter built into the tree, where visitors can purchase the iconic “Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans, Chocolate Frogs, Butterbeer cookies and bottled Butterbeer.”

Credit: Simon Jacobs/PA Media Assignments The Harry Potter Christmas tree

The base of the tree is made up of model buildings, inspired by the shops in the snow-covered village of Hogsmeade. The tree stretches up and out from behind the storefronts. Amongst its branches, you’ll spot hundreds of baubles (in Harry’s beloved Gryffindor colours), letters from Hogwarts addressed to Harry Potter, and presents for the franchise’s beloved characters. And perched at the very top is the familiar snowy owl Hedwig, clutching a delivery of her own.

It’s a fitting location for the tree, as fans of the book series will know. After all, young wizards and witches make their way to Hogwarts via the Hogwarts Express. This picks them up from Platform 9¾ at King’s Cross Station. So, naturally, the Harry Potter Christmas tree could only really pop up at King’s Cross, mere steps away from the station’s Platform 9¾ installation.

Credit: Simon Jacobs/PA Media Assignments

📍 Find the Harry Potter Christmas tree at King’s Cross Station, Euston Road, N1C 4AP.
🪄 The Harry Potter Christmas tree installation will be in place until January 5, 2026.

Credit: Simon Jacobs/PA Media Assignments Save If there’s one word that comes to mind when wandering around London…

[7757
23787,748,35745,393,2699,4884,257,16,15,59345
0":"post-597924","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-london","8":"tag-adventure","9":"tag-britain","10":"tag-christmas","11":"tag-england","12":"tag-fantasy","13":"tag-great-britain","14":"tag-london","15":"tag-uk","16":"tag-united-kingdom","17":"tag-winter
["GET
