{"id":598015,"date":"2025-11-27T22:34:13","date_gmt":"2025-11-27T22:34:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/598015\/"},"modified":"2025-11-27T22:34:13","modified_gmt":"2025-11-27T22:34:13","slug":"martin-lewis-issues-state-pension-warning-after-budget-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/598015\/","title":{"rendered":"Martin Lewis issues state pension warning after Budget | News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/martin-lewis\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Martin Lewis<\/a> has issued a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/bulletin\/news\/budget-pensioners-state-pension-rise-income-tax-b2873200.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">key state pension update<\/a> during his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/budget\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Budget<\/a> special on Thursday, 27 November.<\/p>\n<p>The state pension will rise by 4.8% in April 2026, meaning that the new state pension will increase to \u00a312,547.60 a year \u2014 just below the frozen personal allowance tax threshold at \u00a312,570.<\/p>\n<p>The MoneySavingExpert quizzed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/rachel-reeves\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rachel Reeves<\/a>, putting a question to her from a viewer who asked whether her 85-year-old father living with dementia would have to complete a tax return as his state pension will take him over the personal allowance.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If you just have a state pension&#8230; We are not going to make you fill in a tax return of any type&#8230; In this parliament, they won&#8217;t have to pay the tax,&#8221; the chancellor said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Martin Lewis has issued a key state pension update during his Budget special on Thursday, 27 November.
