{"id":598054,"date":"2025-11-27T22:59:16","date_gmt":"2025-11-27T22:59:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/598054\/"},"modified":"2025-11-27T22:59:16","modified_gmt":"2025-11-27T22:59:16","slug":"five-greater-manchester-motorways-closed-overnight-november-28-30-weekend-full-list","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/598054\/","title":{"rendered":"Five Greater Manchester motorways closed overnight November 28-30 weekend &#8211; full list"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s expected to be a bumper weekend with Christmas Markets, arena shows, Black Friday, and football<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/0_CCP_NEC_210723TRAFFIC007JPG.jpg\" loading=\"eager\"  \/>(Image: Craig Connor\/ChronicleLive)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">Five sections of Greater Manchester motorway will be closed this weekend (November 28-30).<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">Manchester is expected to be extremely busy this weekend with sold-out shows at Co-op Live and the AO Arena, alongside Manchester City\u2019s home game against Leeds United on Saturday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">But the number of people attending those events will pale in comparison to those coming to the city for the <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/christmas\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Christmas<\/a> Markets and shoppers seeking a Black Friday deal. Last weekend, when there was no major football match on, Transport for Greater Manchester said 1.2m journeys were made in and around the city centre.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">That\u2019s why, for this weekend, the organisation is urging Mancs and visitors to plan ahead, \u2018strongly advising\u2019 using public transport. Four pop-up park and ride locations have been set-up with 1,000 free parking places at Booth Street West, Central Park, Belle Vue, and Irwell Place.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">For those that have to drive, they are being urged to re-time or re-route their journey away from the busiest periods and congestion hotspots.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">If you are getting behind the wheel this weekend, it\u2019s worth bearing in mind five motorways will be closed overnight. They are the M56, <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/m60\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">M60<\/a>, M61, M66, and M67.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\"><strong
