Manchester United may be pushed into making a decision over their managerial situation sooner rather than later, due to Arne Slot’s position with rivals Liverpool.<\/p>\n

Manchester United’s board will need to keep a keen eye on the managerial market in the coming weeks, in the event that they do decide to make a change in the dugout.<\/p>\n

Ruben Amorim has been under pressure<\/a> during his tenure so far, which recently hit the one-year mark, though some recent results have eased that somewhat.<\/p>\n

A run of three successive wins in the Premier League<\/a>, which turned into five unbeaten, hinted towards the possibility of the side kicking on – though a recent defeat to ten-men Everton<\/a> raised some further concerns.<\/p>\n

While the jury is still out on whether Amorim<\/a> will succeed at Man United<\/a>, a decision over his future may have to be made sooner rather than later, all because of their rivals, Liverpool.<\/p>\n

The Merseyside outfit have been on a wretched run of form, losing nine of their last 12 games across all competitions, the latest of which was a 4-1 thrashing at the hands of PSV Eindhoven.<\/p>\n

That has now put some pressure on Arne Slot, with the possibility of a sacking not out of the question, as performances and results fall short of expectations – especially after spending \u00a3450m in the summer transfer window.<\/p>\n

While that may well be to the delight of United fans, there could be a huge impact on the club in Liverpool making a change to their managerial ranks.<\/p>\n

That’s because Oliver Glasner has shot up to second-favourite for the job at Anfield after an impressive few seasons at Crystal Palace.<\/p>\n

Glasner has been linked with Man United<\/a> as a possible option if they ever decide to part ways with Amorim, with his system seemingly suiting the move to Old Trafford, given how the squad has been built around a back three.<\/p>\n

However, there is no doubt that the Austrian boss would be on the radar at Liverpool if they want to make a change, given his calm and collected manner and the way he has managed to get the Eagles playing.<\/p>\n

That could well push the United hierarchy into making a move sooner rather than later, if they do decide that Glasner is the option to take them forward, or if they have any lingering doubts over Amorim.<\/p>\n

United are content with Amorim at the moment, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe recently hinting that he’s prepared to give the Portuguese boss three years<\/a> to prove he is the right man for the job.<\/p>\n

However, football is a results business, and if United start to falter again, Ratcliffe’s commitment to Amorim will be tested.<\/p>\n

One other thing that maybe should be considered is how the manager could help United grab two transfer targets, with Adam Wharton and Jean-Philippe Mateta on the club’s radar, who have impressed under the 51-year-old.<\/p>\n

Glasner has taken charge of 81 games with Crystal Palace, guiding them to FA Cup and Community Shield glory, as well as a first foray into Europe.<\/p>\n

In those 81 matches in the dugout, Glasner has won 40 games with 23 draws and 18 defeats, making the side incredibly hard to beat.<\/p>\n
