{"id":599312,"date":"2025-11-28T13:55:18","date_gmt":"2025-11-28T13:55:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/599312\/"},"modified":"2025-11-28T13:55:18","modified_gmt":"2025-11-28T13:55:18","slug":"jp-morgan-reveals-plans-for-biggest-office-building-in-london","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/599312\/","title":{"rendered":"JP Morgan reveals plans for biggest office building in London"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>            JP Morgan\u2019s new Canary Wharf HQ would house 12,000 staff and be the biggest office building in London, for around \u00a33bn<\/p>\n<p>Designed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fosterandpartners.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Foster + Partners<\/a>, the new JP Morgan office tower is expected to surpass the Shard(306m) in height, although final designs are being kept under wraps until they are finalised.<\/p>\n<p>Sitting on the Riverside South plot, which was formerly set for a 214m- tall RHSP development, the new \u2018world-class workspace\u2019 would serve as London and European headquarters for the global bank.<\/p>\n<p>This is all depending on \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbctoday.co.uk\/news\/planning-construction-news\/glenigan-autumn-forecast-predicts-uk-construction-to-return-to-growth-in-2026\/157172\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a continuing positive business environment in the UK<\/a> and the receipt of the necessary approvals and agreements at a national and local level.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>JP Morgan\u2019s 25 Bank Street residence will be upgraded whilst the new HQ is developed<\/p>\n<p>Upon completion, staff will be consolidated between the new HQ and 60 Victoria Embankment, with 25 Bank street subject to review at a later date. <\/p>\n<p>The biggest office building in London will feature trading floors, roof terraces, wellness facilities, caf\u00e9s, cycling infrastructure and upgraded public realm.<\/p>\n<p>The height of the proposed tower is subject to speculation, as Canary Wharf building heights are capped to allow for safe flight paths towards London City Airport. <\/p>\n<p>JP MorganChase estimated in a recent report that the combined building and refurbishment programme could pump \u00a39.9bn into the UK economy and support more than 7,800 jobs across construction and the wider supply chain.<\/p>\n<p>Construction would take an estimated six years<\/p>\n<p>Canary Wharf Group would act as co-developer on the site- which already has foundations and basement levels established- and Sir George Iacobescu will advise JP Morgan.<\/p>\n<p>JPMorganChase chairman and chief executive Jamie Dimon said: \u201cLondon has been a trading and financial hub for more than a thousand years, and maintaining it as a vibrant place for finance and business is critical to the health of the UK economy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis building will represent our lasting commitment to the city, the UK, our clients and our people.
