Met Office issues Storm Claudia warning alongside flood alert in Somerset<\/a>\n<\/p>\n\n Most, if not all, towns and villages in Somerset are set to be hit by the rain from 6am-11:59pm tomorrow (November 29), with a separate warning in place from 12am-3pm on Monday, December 1.\n<\/p>\n

\n A Met Office spokesperson said: “Rain, heavy at times, is expected to develop across southwest England on Friday night and spread north-eastward during Saturday before clearing into the North Sea.\n<\/p>\n
\n “Strong winds may accompany this heavy rain, particularly across eastern parts of England on Saturday night.”\n<\/p>\n
\n It is possible that 50mm of rain could fall in some places.\n<\/p>\n
\n Disruption includes the chance of power cuts and loss of other services to some homes and businesses, and the risk of damage to some buildings caused by flooding.\n<\/p>\n
\n There is the possibility that smaller communities could become cut off by flooded roads, and travel on bus and rail could also be disrupted.\n<\/p>\n
