Police and ATO are currently at the scene of a security alert in west Belfast.<\/p>\n

It follows the discovery of a suspicious object in the Areema Drive area of Twinbrook.<\/p>\n

A number of homes have been evacuated as a precaution.<\/p>\n

In a statement, Sinn Fein MLA Danny Baker said: \u201cIf you need somewhere to go, I have spoken to council, and residents can use Brook Leisure Centre.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to thank the staff at Brook for responding quickly to support our community.<\/p>\n

\u201cI will update when I have more information.\u201d<\/p>\n

A police spokesperson said: \u201cPolice are at the scene of a security alert in the Areema Drive area of Dunmurry following the discovery of a suspicious object. Cordons are in place.<\/p>\n

\u201cResidents are being evacuated.
