Hull KR have confirmed the early release of forward Kelepi Tanginoa with immediate effect to take up an opportunity with a Super League rival for 2026 and beyond.<\/p>\n
The 31-year-old has spent the last two seasons at Sewell Group Craven Park after arriving from Wakefield Trinity, going on to make 59 appearances for the Robins, scoring 16 tries.<\/p>\n
As reported by the Warrington Guardian<\/a> last week, he is set to join Sam Burgess\u2019 Warrington Wolves for the 2026 season and become the club\u2019s seventh new addition at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.<\/p>\n Tanginoa had a year remaining on his contract at Rovers, but has been granted an early release to secure a longer-team deal. He played a key role in Hull KR<\/a> \u2019s treble-winning campaign with 29 appearances, including from the bench in the Challenge Cup Final triumph over Warrington.<\/p>\n Explaining the decision to release the back-rower early, head coach Willie Peters said: \u201cKelepi is one of the best human beings I\u2019ve come across in rugby league<\/a>. Kelepi has strong values and morals and is a devoted family man.<\/p>\n “Kelepi came to see me about an opportunity for a longer-term contract with another Super League club to support his family in the latter stages of his career.<\/p>\n “We didn\u2019t want to see Kelepi leave but certainly didn\u2019t want to stand in his way and we have granted his release to take up this new opportunity. I\u2019d like to thank Kelepi, Evelyn and their children for the past two seasons, we wish them all the best for the future.\u201d<\/p>\n
