A man accused of killing two people, dismembering their bodies and dumping their remains in suitcases near the Clifton<\/a> Suspension Bridge in Bristol has pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of one of the victims<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Yostin Andres Mosquera is charged with the murders of Albert Alfonso, 62, and Paul Longworth, 71, on or before July 11 last year in the London borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.<\/p>\n

The 35-year-old defendant admitted the manslaughter of Mr Alfonso<\/a> during a hearing at the Old Bailey on Tuesday, April 29, but denies both charges of murder.<\/p>\n

Prosecutor Deanna Heer KC said the prosecution does not accept the plea and Mosquera will still face trial over both alleged murders.<\/p>\n

A man was seen acting suspiciously on the bridge<\/a> just before midnight on Wednesday, July 10, 2024.<\/p>\n

A suitcase containing human remains was found on the bridge. A second suitcase was found a short time later, also containing human body parts.<\/p>\n

Officers later found more remains at a house in Scotts Road, Shepherd\u2019s Bush, west London.<\/p>\n

The shocking discovery of suitcases containing human remains left not only the city, but the country reeling.<\/p>\n

The iconic Bristol landmark was closed by police on July 11, for the entire day.<\/p>\n

Police and forensic teams worked tirelessly to piece together the events which led to discovery of a suitcase containing human remains.<\/p>\n

A double murder inquiry was launched as the Met worked with Avon and Somerset Police to find those responsible. The Metropolitan Police arrested a 34-year-old in the Bristol area on Saturday, July 13, 2024.<\/p>\n
