The owner of two service stations is slashing fuel prices on Sunday to help people struggling with the cost-of-living crisis. Hassan Mohammed, 33, who owns Texaco fuel stations in Walkden<\/a> and Horwich, is reducing the cost of unleaded petrol to \u00a31.20.9 and diesel to \u00a31.32.9 per litre between 6am and 10pm this Sunday.<\/p>\n The father-of-two from Astley Bridge, Bolton<\/a>, says it will be the cheapest fuel in the country.<\/p>\n He told the Manchester Evening News: “We are the cheapest in the north west and now we’ll be the cheapest in the country by a mile. We like to do this every so often to help people with the cost-of-living crisis.”<\/p>\n The M.E.N. reported in 2022 how he slashed prices previously<\/a> at his Walkden petrol station on Manchester Road, called The Limes service station.<\/p>\n This time the sale – which he has dubbed Black Fuel Day – will also include a second Texaco station he now also owns on Chorley New Road in Horwich. He said: “We like to do something every so often to help people with the cost-of-living crisis. The budget has just been and we wanted to give people a more positive train on things with Christmas<\/a> and winter around the corner. We just want to give this opportunity for people to take advantage of.”<\/p>\n Hassan admits he is ‘fairly comfortable’ but has known financial struggles with his family business in the past. He said: “I have around 25 people working across both sites and I pay them well and I still see some of them struggling. I pay them well but other people don’t get (get paid so well). It just makes me think what other people are going through.
