{"id":600677,"date":"2025-11-29T05:36:28","date_gmt":"2025-11-29T05:36:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/600677\/"},"modified":"2025-11-29T05:36:28","modified_gmt":"2025-11-29T05:36:28","slug":"rangers-dressing-rooms-true-feeling-on-danny-rohl-as-unseen-freedom-goes-public","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/600677\/","title":{"rendered":"Rangers dressing room&#8217;s true feeling on Danny Rohl as unseen &#8216;freedom&#8217; goes public"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Ibrox boss is building positive momentum amid a rollercoaster campaign<\/p>\n<p>17:50, 28 Nov 2025Updated 21:15, 28 Nov 2025<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/0_JS388602387.jpg\" loading=\"eager\"  \/>Danny Rohl<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"dailyrecord\">Connor Barron reckons Rangers are at least playing with the shackles off under new boss <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyrecord.co.uk\/all-about\/connor-barron\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Danny Rohl.<\/a> And he\u2019s not the first Ibrox star to say something similar since the German replaced Russell Martin.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"dailyrecord\">But the irony is &#8211; and it was proved again on Thursday night against Braga &#8211; that unless Gers tighten up they won\u2019t achieve anything. <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyrecord.co.uk\/all-about\/rangers-fc\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Rangers<\/a> players might feel like they\u2019ve been liberated by their new head coach.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"dailyrecord\">But that will count for nothing if they continue to concede poor goals &#8211; and fail to take their chances at the other end. <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyrecord.co.uk\/all-about\/connor-barron\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Barron<\/a> knows it. He was one of Gers\u2019 best performers in the 1-1 Europa League draw against the Portuguese outfit in midweek.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"dailyrecord\">But the 26-year-old still came off the pitch feeling exasperated that Rohl\u2019s men didn\u2019t pick up a much-needed win. And ultimately, after leading 1-0 against 10 men at Ibrox, it was sloppiness which cost them.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"dailyrecord\">Nasser Djiga\u2019s mistake from a harmless Braga cross allowed the visitors to equalise and leave Glasgow with a point. Barron accepts they have to be far more decisive in both boxes if they\u2019re going to be successful under Rohl. I feel like we\u2019re playing with a lot more freedom and the boys are taking advantage of that.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"dailyrecord\">\u201cObviously we have to pick up results &#8211; and in the league we\u2019ve done that. But Thursday was a disappointing one for us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"dailyrecord\">The Braga result was Rangers\u2019 first Europa League point of the campaign but their qualification hopes still hang by a thread.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"dailyrecord\">With just three games left in the group phase &#8211; against Ferencvaros, Ludogorets and Porto &#8211; they\u2019ll need to win them all to stand a chance of progressing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"dailyrecord\">They should have beaten Braga after leading through <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyrecord.co.uk\/all-about\/james-tavernier\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">James Tavernier\u2019s<\/a> penalty just before half-time then having a man advantage when Uruguayan Rodrigo Zalazar was sent off.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"dailyrecord\">In the end, Gers had to settle for a draw with Rohl claiming they\u2019d taken a step forward.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"dailyrecord\">Barron agrees and says this Euro display was a level up from previous defeats against Sturm Graz, Genk and Brann Bergen.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"dailyrecord\">Now, he wants them to follow it up with a victory in the league. He said: \u201cOn Thursday we showed something we haven\u2019t shown in the previous Europa League games so we can take confidence from that, in terms of the performance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"dailyrecord\">\u201cBut in terms of a result, we still need to work on that and we believe we can.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"dailyrecord\">\u201cHopefully we can carry the performance into Sunday. He refused to pin any blame on on-loan Wolves defender Djiga who has struggled for form since arriving at Ibrox.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"dailyrecord\">But the Scotland midfielder realises they simply can\u2019t afford to keep gifting opposition teams goals. He said: \u201cLook, we\u2019re disappointed we didn\u2019t get the three points. But I thought for large spells in the game, we were good and dealt with the conditions really well.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"dailyrecord\">\u201cWe have to be more clinical in front of goal. I felt we got into good areas but their goal killed us in the end.I see signs of progress but we\u2019re still disappointed. We need to go again on Sunday now.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"dailyrecord\">\u201cThe frustration is not winning it when they went down to 10 men. We had a good foothold in the game and maybe just didn\u2019t take advantage of having the extra man.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"dailyrecord\">\u201cIt\u2019s obviously frustrating (to lose cheap goals). But we\u2019ll stick together and work on it. We need to cut that out of our game.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"dailyrecord\">Tavernier scored his 21st European goal for Rangers from the spot on Thursday night &#8211; equalling club legend Ally McCoist\u2019s tally. He picked up the man-of-the-match award for an impressive display in Rohl\u2019s engine room. But he says that means nothing to him if the team isn&#8217;t picking up victories.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"dailyrecord\">He said: \u201cPersonally, I felt like I did well on Thursday night but the focus has to be on the team and getting three points. We didn\u2019t do that and we\u2019re disappointed with just one.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"dailyrecord\">\u201cWe have to try and win the last three games now, 100 percent. And the belief is in there to go and do it.
