We already know that London is a world-class shopping destination. The capital\u2019s shopaholics have access to everything from trendy vintage boutiques<\/a>, to cutesy stationary shops<\/a>, and cult homeware destinations<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0Now, it\u2019s\u00a0official: new research has revealed the UK\u2019s top high streets for indie shops, with three London locations on the list.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A study by American Express and GlobalData looked at high streets all over the country, analysing them on the quantity of independent shops, the street\u2019s vibrancy, and its overall aesthetic (think: Instagram friendly) appeal.\u00a0The study then named the top 10 independent high streets in Britain.\u00a0<\/p>\n

So which London locations are most likely to have shoppers reaching for their credit cards? In\u00a0the capital, two high streets came in fourth place on the list.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Coal Drops Yard<\/a>\u00a0and the nearby\u00a0Stable Street<\/strong>, both in\u00a0King\u2019s Cross, took the joint fourth prize. In Coal Drops Yard you\u2019ve got your bougie boutiques like Aesop, Paul Smith and APC, but there are also a heck of a lot of independent shops, selling everything from handcrafted homewares, to dried flowers and reggae records. Stable Street\u00a0has kiosks that host pop-ups, events and workshops from experimental brands and emerging businesses.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Also featuring on the list was Broadway Market<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0in Hackney, which came in sixth place overall. The compact east London street has had\u00a0had a traditional fruit and veg market since the 1890s, but these days its better known for being a melting pot for all of London\u2019s tote bag-weilding,\u00a0Lime bike-riding\u00a0hipsters. On Saturdays and Sunday you\u2019ll likely see them clutching flat whites and strolling in their finest Goodhood<\/a> outfits while perusing the various food stands, vintage stalls and Japanese homeware kiosks.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The list was created\u00a0to coincide with\u00a0Small Business Saturday, an initiative\u00a0from American Express that encourages consumers to shop at local small businesses.\u00a0Designed to be an anti shopping experience\u00a0following Black Friday, this year\u2019s Small Business Saturday takes place on December 6.\u00a0<\/p>\n
