A yellow weather warning put in place for Saturday across a huge section of Wales has been cancelled, according to the Met Office.<\/p>\n
On Friday the forecaster issued the warning for heavy rain<\/a> and warned people in Wales and England to be prepared for possible flooding, power cuts and travel disruption. The warning came into force at 6am on Saturday, November 29, and was due to last until midnight. Read the biggest stories in Wales first by signing up to our daily newsletter<\/a> here.<\/p>\n It covered Blaenau Gwent<\/a>, Bridgend<\/a>, Caerphilly<\/a>, Cardiff<\/a>, Carmarthenshire<\/a>, Ceredigion<\/a>, Merthyr Tydfil, Monmouthshire<\/a>, Neath <\/a>Port Talbot<\/a>, Newport<\/a>, Pembrokeshire<\/a>, Powys, Rhondda<\/a> Cynon Taf, Swansea<\/a>, Torfaen<\/a> and Vale of Glamorgan.<\/p>\n More heavy rain was the last thing that many communities across Wales needed after a period of downpours and severe flooding in the past few weeks.<\/p>\n However, on Saturday morning the Met Office cancelled the weather<\/a> warning because the area expected to be hit by heavy rain has shrunk significantly to the point that it no longer applies to any counties in Wales.<\/p>\n A spokesperson for the Met Office said: \u201cThe yellow warning of rain has been cancelled.<\/p>\n \u201cThe warning area has been shrunk, removing Wales and much of England where most of the rain has now fallen.\u201d<\/p>\n The warning remains in place for parts of England, including sections of the north east, Lincolnshire and the East Midlands, where some heavy rain is still expected.<\/p>\n There is also a yellow weather warning for rain still in place for Monday which covers much of Wales.<\/p>\n That comes into force at midnight and will remain in force until 3pm.
