{"id":601333,"date":"2025-11-29T13:10:13","date_gmt":"2025-11-29T13:10:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/601333\/"},"modified":"2025-11-29T13:10:13","modified_gmt":"2025-11-29T13:10:13","slug":"ukraine-war-latest-deadly-attack-on-kyiv-as-russia-launches-dozens-of-missiles-and-hundreds-of-drones-world-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/601333\/","title":{"rendered":"Ukraine war latest: Deadly attack on Kyiv as Russia launches &#8216;dozens of missiles and hundreds of drones&#8217; | World News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Andrii Yermak, who has quit as Volodymyr Zelenskyy&#8217;s chief of staff yesterday, is just the latest casualty of the anti-corruption investigation engulfing Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>The right-hand man to Ukraine&#8217;s leader has not been accused of any wrongdoing but a search of his home today appeared to be a final straw.<\/p>\n<p>This comes as the government has been by a multi-million pound corruption scandal, which has plunged Ukraine into a position of weakness at a critical time.<\/p>\n<p><b>What&#8217;s being investigated?<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine is looking into Timur Mindich, the suspected ringleader of a \u00a375m+ ($100m) kickback scheme involving the state nuclear energy company.<\/p>\n<p>Mindich is a former business partner of Zelenskyy in his days as a television star. He fled Ukraine shortly after the probe was made public on 10 November.<\/p>\n<p>It is suspected that individuals have been skimming off around 15% of contracts and pocketing it, our <b><a href=\"https:\/\/news.sky.com\/author\/michael-clarke-949\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">defence analyst Michael Clarke<\/a><\/b> says.<\/p>\n<p>The political crisis around these allegations has been putting pressure on Zelenskyy and his government.<\/p>\n<p><b>Watch:\u00a0&#8216;This scandal has consumed this country&#8217;<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Seven people have been charged.
