Two men are facing jail after a man was shot as he sat in a car in Wolverhampton.<\/p>\n

Armed officers were called after a car hit another vehicle in Westbourne Road at around 6.30pm on 18 December, last year.<\/p>\n

Officers found the driver, who was in in his 30s, had suffered a gunshot wound to the top of his leg and he was taken for hospital treatment.<\/p>\n

The Major Crime Unit found that earlier two other men had arrived in a nearby alleyway with one of them then getting into the victim’s car when it was parked outside a shop.<\/p>\n

A shot was fired and the man left. The victim drove a short distance and hit another vehicle, before police were called.<\/p>\n

CCTV footage and forensic analysis of mobile phone data identified the offenders as Ethan Edwards and Ilir Hoxha, both aged 22.<\/p>\n

Following further enquiries the team traced the two men and arrested Edwards on 13 January and Hoxha, on 21 January.<\/p>\n

Edwards, of Upper Villiers Street, Wolverhampton, admitted wounding with intent and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Tuesday (25 Nov).<\/p>\n

Hoxha, of no fixed address, had previously pleaded guilty to the same charges in October. They’ve been remanded in custody for sentencing on 30 January.<\/p>\n

Det Insp Francis Nock from our Major Crime Unit, said: “These two men are now behind bars, and rightly so.<\/p>\n

“Gun violence like this is wholly unacceptable and with the weapon being fired at their victim at such close range and in a confined space, the intent was clearly to do him real harm.<\/p>\n
