A passionate photographer and videographer, who has journeyed across the globe to pursue his hobby, has captured a remarkable spectacle of nature – a tuna feeding frenzy off the Cornish coast.<\/p>\n

Jon Vanags had previously observed bluefin tuna leaping from the sea during feeding times at Land’s End. However, this time around, he was prepared with his camera, reports Cornwall Live<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“It was quite intense and exciting to see the tuna in a frenzy like that,” Jon shared. “I have been going to this spot low on the rocks past Land’s End. You have to climb down to them a bit. I often go there with a flask of coffee and spend a few hours waiting for the action.<\/p>\n

“Morning seems best as it seems to be the time the tuna are the most active. They were feeding on garfish. Seagulls and seals were there too trying to get the scraps.”<\/p>\n

He further added: “These tuna were getting really close to the shore. You could hear them when they come up and make these massive splashes – woosh. It’s quite a sight.”<\/p>\n

Jon, who has spent years working in IT on a consultancy basis, allowing him to travel the world for extended periods, and has resided in the Midlands, London and Bristol before settling in an area between Penzance and St Ives, expressed that there is something uniquely captivating about witnessing nature in its raw form.<\/p>\n

“I’ve not seen anything predating on these tuna,” he said. “We know orca have been spotted in Cornwall’s waters. I’d love to see an orca or a shark attacking tuna, but I guess tuna are large fish and there are many of them.<\/p>\n

“Getting that shot of an orca attacking tuna during a frenzy would be quite something.”<\/p>\n
