{"id":602529,"date":"2025-11-30T03:00:52","date_gmt":"2025-11-30T03:00:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/602529\/"},"modified":"2025-11-30T03:00:52","modified_gmt":"2025-11-30T03:00:52","slug":"fresh-alexander-isak-rumour-at-liverpool-paints-newcastle-united-transfer-saga-in-a-whole-new-light","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/602529\/","title":{"rendered":"Fresh Alexander Isak rumour at Liverpool paints Newcastle United transfer saga in a whole new light"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Newcastle United\u00a0seemingly had\u00a0the chance to sell Alexander Isak months before he\u00a0actually left\u00a0the club.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.geordiebootboys.com\/transfers\/newcastle-united-issue-brutally-blunt-official-statement-as-alexander-isak-to-liverpool-confirmed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Isak forced a move from Newcastle United to Liverpool<\/a> in September, with the Reds paying around \u00a3125million for his services.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>At the time, it looked like a bitter blow for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geordiebootboys.com\/club\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Newcastle<\/a>. They fought hard to keep their best player but eventually caved in during the dying embers of the summer transfer window.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>         Malick Thiaw has now scored DOUBLE the amount of goals as Alexander Isak this season\u2026     <\/p>\n<p>Malick Thiaw, Malick Thiaw, Malick THIAW, THIAW, THIAW \ud83c\udfb5 How much better is he than you\u2019d thought he\u2019d be?<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/GettyImages-2249047911-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Malick Thiaw celebrates after scoring for Newcastle United against Everton.\" class=\"wp-image-170495\" \/>Photo by Ben Roberts \u2013 Danehouse\/Getty Images      <\/p>\n<p>Still, and while <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geordiebootboys.com\/tag\/alexander-isak\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Isak<\/a> still has time\u00a0to come good, the move\u00a0hasn\u2019t\u00a0worked\u00a0out just\u00a0yet.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He\u2019s scored just one goal for Liverpool during a terrible season at Anfield, while replacement Nick Woltemade has already bagged seven goals at Newcastle.  <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.geordiebootboys.com\/news\/what-jamie-reuben-offered-alexander-isak-to-convince-him-to-stay-at-newcastle-united\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Newcastle tried to keep Isak<\/a>, who it seems could also have left in January.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/GettyImages-2241728708-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Alexander Isak during Liverpool's Premier League game against Manchester United.\" class=\"wp-image-165157\" \/>Photo by Robbie Jay Barratt \u2013 AMA\/Getty ImagesLiverpool were interested in signing Alexander Isak in January  <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.geordiebootboys.com\/transfers\/alexander-isak-just-made-the-last-move-available-to-him-in-bombshell-newcastle-united-statement\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Isak claims he was unhappy for a while before he\u00a0actually left\u00a0Newcastle<\/a>, with many believing it comes down\u00a0to a contract improvement he was\u00a0supposedly told\u00a0he would get in 2024.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>That never arrived and Isak, despite a poor start to the season, would kick on and further establish himself as one of the best forwards in world football. <\/p>\n<p>In total, he scored 27 goals in 42 games and hit the winner at Wembley as Newcastle beat Liverpool to win the Carabao Cup.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>However, in an alternate universe, that may never have happened. <\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetimes.com\/sport\/football\/article\/liverpool-arne-slot-jonathan-northcroft-h0q3cq5x8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">The Times<\/a>, Liverpool\u00a0were\u00a0willing to sign Isak in January had Newcastle\u00a0been open to selling.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>They wanted to begin the process of replacing Mohamed Salah while the forward was still at the club. Knowing it would be difficult to replace him on the right wing, they wanted to shift to a new way of playing by signing an elite forward.<\/p>\n<p>         Comment below! The one player who Newcastle United should sign in January is\u2026         Newcastle United may have done well to keep Alexander Isak for as long as they did  <\/p>\n<p>Caving in at the final moment of the transfer window was hugely disappointing, although Isak\u2019s actions did force Newcastle\u2019s hand.  <\/p>\n<p>The idea that Liverpool had been interested since January, however, does paint the saga in a whole new light. <\/p>\n<p>Perhaps Newcastle actually did well to keep Isak motivated at the club for as long as they did.
