Manchester City expect Liverpool to move for a \u00a3100m Premier League star. It could well be a battle for his signature between the two heavyweights.<\/strong><\/p>\n Manchester City will look to sign Elliot Anderson in the summer transfer window. That\u2019s according to the Daily Mail<\/a>, who report that the midfielder is on the shopping list for a few clubs.<\/p>\n Article continues under the video<\/p>\n Anderson has rapidly developed into one of the most exciting midfielders in the Premier League after his move from Newcastle United to Nottingham Forest. It\u2019s a sale Newcastle never wanted to make – they were forced into it with PSR concerns.<\/p>\n Having joined Forest for \u00a335m, Anderson is now expected to move for around \u00a3100m. City are certainly interested but it appears they\u2019re very aware that Liverpool will also make a move for the player.<\/p>\n They\u2019re not alone in that, either. Manchester United have their eyes on Anderson and there\u2019s a feeling among the trio of clubs that Anderson is simply too good to pass up.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Elliot Anderson’s appeal<\/p>\n Anderson is a wonderfully versatile midfielder who wins tackles, offers composure on the ball and can move it forwards. Getting all of that in a homegrown player is magnificent and why clubs will be happy to pay a premium here.<\/p>\n Now, whether Liverpool can afford that premium is another matter. Their current run of form doesn\u2019t exactly make it easy to sign players in battle like this, either.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n But we don\u2019t question that Liverpool will want Anderson. \u00a3100m is an awful lot of money but he could end up being the foundation of an elite midfield.<\/p>\n That homegrown status means he\u2019s effortless to build around, too. The flexibility there makes a \u00a3100m player feel much better value for money.<\/p>\n Anderson\u2019s future is certainly one of the big developing transfer stories for 2026.
