Tucked away in an ancient woodland in North London, you’ll find a stunning caf\u00e9 that seems to have sprung straight from the pages of a fairy tale. Queens Wood Cafe, nestled in Highgate, has even been dubbed one of the city’s most charming cafes by Visit London<\/a>.<\/p>\n It’s not hard to see why – the caf\u00e9 and community space is constructed entirely from wood, resembling a storybook cabin. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Little Red Riding Hood pop up, basket in hand, ready to visit her grandmother.<\/p>\n The wooden structure boasts a history spanning over 200 years, having originally served as a woodkeeper’s lodge. Now, it’s been repurposed into a bustling caf\u00e9 and community hub, popular with both locals and tourists.<\/p>\n Offering a mouth-watering selection of food and homemade cakes, along with a range of teas, coffees and alcoholic beverages for when you fancy something stronger, the caf\u00e9 caters to all tastes. Beyond its culinary offerings, it also serves as a community space, hosting a variety of events such as poetry readings, music performances and creative writing sessions amidst the serene backdrop of Queens Wood.<\/p>\n Adding to its charm, the caf\u00e9 features a permaculture garden maintained by volunteers.
