The three-time Ballon d\u2019Or winner Aitana Bonmat\u00ed has been ruled out of Spain\u2019s Nations League final second leg at home against Germany after fracturing her left fibula in training.<\/p>\n

The Barcelona midfielder, who has topped the Guardian\u2019s list of the 100 best female footballers in the world<\/a> for the past two years, fell awkwardly during a session on Sunday and tests have revealed a broken leg.<\/p>\n

Catalan media suggested Bonmat\u00ed would be out for \u201ca minimum of two months\u201d as she heals from the injury, which could rise above three if she requires surgery.<\/p>\n

\u201cAitana Bonmat\u00ed finished the morning session at the Ciudad del Futbol in Las Rozas in pain after a bad landing in an accidental action,\u201d the Spanish Football Federation said in a statement.<\/p>\n

\u201cFollowing tests carried out by the medical services of the Royal Spanish Football Federation on Sunday November 30, she has been diagnosed with a fracture in her left fibula.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe player will return to Barcelona and rejoin her club to begin her recovery period.\u201d<\/p>\n
