The BBC Scotland headquarters in Glasgow <\/a>has been evacuated this morning after a fire broke out in the building.<\/p>\n It is believed the blaze <\/a>was discovered in a plant room on the fifth floor of the Pacific Quay building at roof level.<\/p>\n A fire alarm <\/a>went off at around 6:30am on Monday, December 1, and all staff were forced to leave the building.<\/p>\n BBC Radio Scotland Breakfast<\/a> was taken off air and breakfast television bulletins were suspended while staff were evacuated from the building.<\/p>\n The Breakfast show switched to pre-recorded music <\/a>and then went on to feature Radio 5 Live in its place.<\/p>\n The show, presented by Martin Geissler and Laura Maciver, came back on air shortly after 8.30am.<\/p>\n Speaking about the incident, they told listeners: “Our apologies… it’s been quite the morning. We had a fire in the building and for the last two hours we have been outside waiting for the… it wasn’t just a dry run, it wasn’t a false alarm, there was a proper fire. We could see flames on the roof of the building from outside but the fire is out.<\/p>\n “The firefighters have gone and we’re back with you.”<\/p>\n
