Gunmen remain on the loose after a man was shot twice in the leg on Friday evening. Emergency services were called to Radway Road at around 10.20pm on November 28 following reports a man had sustained gunshot injuries on the driveway of an address on the street.<\/p>\n

According to Merseyside Police<\/a>, it’s believed the victim was shot twice in his leg by two men on a Surron bike. The offenders<\/a> fled the scene in an unknown direction on the electric bike. Emergency services attended the scene in Huyton<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The victim was taken to hospital, where police said he was in a serious but stable condition. On the morning of Saturday November 29<\/a>, police said that a firearm<\/a> and an electric bike had been found by police officers in the area<\/a>. Both items were forensically examined.<\/p>\n

A cordon was put in place on Radway Road and Liverpool Road, with officers carrying out house-to-house, CCTV and witness enquiries.<\/p>\n

The force also erected a cordon around the front carpark of the Oak Tree pub on Liverpool Road.<\/p>\n

A Merseyside Police force incident manager told the ECHO<\/a> that the two cordons were connected.<\/p>\n

In an update this afternoon, a spokesperson for Merseyside Police confirmed no arrests had been made in the case.<\/p>\n

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing. They added that the victim remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital.<\/p>\n

Detective Chief Inspector Phil Atkinson said on Saturday morning: \u201cWe are still in the very early stages of an investigation and are determined to find the offenders responsible.<\/p>\n

\u201cA young man is currently in hospital with several injuries to his leg following a violent incident in our community; therefore, I want to reassure residents living in the area that we are taking this incident extremely seriously and are relentless in our pursuit of those involved in gun crime.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a residential area, and there will be people who may have witnessed the incident, and I urge those people to tell us what they know if they have not done so already.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you have CCTV or dashcam footage, please let us know if your systems have captured anything.<\/p>\n

\u201cInformation from you is vital if we are to break down organised crime groups, and I would appeal to anyone who has information to come forward as soon as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n
