Former Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez is reportedly looking for a Saudi Arabia exit route, just months after leaving. The Reds forward joined Al-Hilal in the summer following the Premier League<\/a> triumph at Anfield<\/a>, in a deal worth \u00a366million.<\/p>\n

According to various reports, the 26-year-old is unhappy in the Middle East despite scoring four goals in six games as Al-Hilal sit four points off Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr. There have been some suggestions on social media that Liverpool have missed the forward as they try to navigate their way out of a sticky patch with Alexander Isak enduring a tough start on Merseyside.<\/p>\n

However, Argentinian outlet Ole <\/a>has suggested that South American giants River Plate have sanctioned a wage budget for Nunez in order to sign for the 2026 season.<\/p>\n

Head coach Marcelo Gallardo is set for a squad rebuild and the tactician is said to be “keen” on the former Liverpool talisman. In the report, the outlet says: “Darwin Nunez intends to leave Al-Hilal but no further advances were made other than a ‘call’.”<\/p>\n

Despite enjoying a successful start in the Kingdom, which has also seen him notch two assists for his teammates, Nunez is said to be looking for his next adventure.<\/p>\n

It comes after a series of social media activity which depicts the 26-year-old enjoying life after a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia. Six weeks ago, Nunez posted a carousel of pictures to Instagram, including action shot of him celebrating after a goal with the caption: “Back at it [blue heart emoji].”<\/p>\n

Seven weeks earlier, he posted another series of snaps, saying: “This is just the beginning.”<\/p>\n

Nunez’s time at Liverpool was polarising after his big-money move from Benfica. The Uruguayan popped up with some crucial moments for the Reds, especially in their title-winning campaign under Arne Slot.<\/p>\n

He netted twice against Brentford at a crucial stage of the title-race, following immense scrutiny over his form. But with the moments of quality, came criticism as he went on extended spells without finding the back of the net and in one instance, criticism from the Dutchman.<\/p>\n

But Nunez sent a heartfelt message, noting the difficult times, after his exit was confirmed. He said: “Thank you, Liverpool.<\/p>\n

“Three years on, it’s time to say goodbye.<\/p>\n

“I’ll take with me countless memories that will live with me forever.<\/p>\n

“I leave with a full heart, thanks to the love of a crowd that never let me down and always had my back – through the highs and through the lows.<\/p>\n

“Liverpool will always be part of who I am. I’ll miss you more than words can say.
