{"id":607296,"date":"2025-12-02T11:40:26","date_gmt":"2025-12-02T11:40:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/607296\/"},"modified":"2025-12-02T11:40:26","modified_gmt":"2025-12-02T11:40:26","slug":"you-can-buy-tadej-pogacars-ventoux-conquering-colnago-y1rs-but-itll-cost-20000","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/607296\/","title":{"rendered":"You can buy Tadej Poga\u010dar\u2019s Ventoux-conquering Colnago Y1Rs \u2013 but it&#8217;ll cost $20,000"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sotheby&#8217;s is auctioning off four iconic Colnago bikes, including the stripped-back Colnago Y1Rs Tadej Poga\u010dar rode to mountain time trial domination in this year&#8217;s Tour de France.<\/p>\n<p>It is also the same bike he used to set a record up Mont Ventoux on stage 16.<\/p>\n<p>The collection includes a 1972 track bike built to Eddy Merckx&#8217;s Hour Record dimensions, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bikeradar.com\/features\/tech\/this-colnago-c35-is-one-of-two-ever-made\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a C35 Oro Ferrari Collaboration<\/a>, and Jo\u0101o Almeida\u2019s Presentation C68 Rossa for La Vuelta 2025.<\/p>\n<p>All the bikes have an auction estimate of $15,000 to $20,000, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bikeradar.com\/news\/2025-tour-de-france-tadej-pogacar-lightweight-colnago-y1rs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tadej Poga\u010dar\u2019s Y1Rs<\/a> having the highest bid of $16,000 at the time of writing.<\/p>\n<p>Editor&#8217;s note: A previous version of this article stated that Poga\u010dar won the Mont Ventoux stage on the Colnago Y1Rs. This was, in fact, won by Valentin Paret-Peintre. With Poga\u010dar being so dominant this year, we&#8217;re putting this one down to the Mandela effect.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1280\" height=\"853\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/PHOTO-2025-07-21-19-13-5352.jpg\" alt=\"Tadej Pogacar Colnago Y1Rs.\" class=\"wp-image-930744\"\/>Poga\u010dar shocked us with his aero selection for Mont Ventoux this year. Colnago<\/p>\n<p>It was a surprise when Poga\u010dar picked Colnago&#8217;s aero bike for the queen stage of this year&#8217;s Tour de France, but this special edition Y1Rs has been slimmed down, weighing just over 7kg.<\/p>\n<p>The bike features a raw carbon finish that reveals the carbon weave, with only a thin clear coat protecting the frame.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1034\" height=\"690\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Colnago-C35-Oro-Ferrari.png\" alt=\"Colnago C35 Oro Ferrari\" class=\"wp-image-951207\"\/>The C35 is one of the first carbon-framed road bikes. Sotheby&#8217;s <\/p>\n<p>For retro bike fans, an extraordinarily rare C35 Oro Ferrari Collaboration is also for sale.<\/p>\n<p>The bike was made in Italy under Ferrari\u2019s technical guidance, and was among the very first road frames to be produced using carbon fibre.<\/p>\n<p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Ferrari Made A ROAD BIKE!? Sotheby&#8217;s<\/p>\n<p>This example comes with a gold-plated Campagnolo Super Record groupset and striking five-spoke carbon-fibre wheels.<\/p>\n<p>Bidding is open until 19:30 GST on 5 December 2025.
