An iconic hotel in Manchester<\/a> has announced it will undergo a major transformation, which will see a number of rooms receive a new ‘opulent’ look in time for a big milestone.<\/p>\n

The King Street Townhouse Hotel, which first opened its doors in the city centre<\/a> in 2016, will revamp ten guestrooms and two event spaces with a new look inspired by the Italian renaissance period. The rooms will be open to the public in the spring.<\/p>\n

The transformation at the luxury four-star hotel, which has an ethos of being a \u2018home away from home\u2019, will be a \u2018revitalised and contemporary perspective\u2019 paying homage to the Grade II-listed building\u2019s original design by renowned architect Edward Salomons. It was first built in 1872 for use by the Manchester Salford<\/a> Trustees Bank.<\/p>\n

Located around 15 minutes away from Piccadilly Station, the 40-room hotel and spa has previously been named one of the most beautiful in the city and is also famed for its rooftop infinity pool that overlooks the Manchester skyline towards the grand rooftops of the Town Hall. It also features a rooftop bar, a restaurant and its own cosy Afternoon Tea Lounge.<\/a><\/p>\n

Home to six events spaces, the hotel\u2019s new transformation will see the South Terrace and Lounge remerge as \u2018one of Manchester\u2019s most exclusive destinations for weddings, conferences and private events\u2019. The refreshed design will focus on natural light, and strategically placed mirrors reflecting its unique position in the city. It will also consist of new room dividers, and can open up with an adjoining rooftop space which can offer unrivalled panoramic views of the skyline.<\/p>\n

The Mezzanine Lounge will become an \u2018elegant, intimate hideaway\u2019 in the transformation. Given a new aesthetic, the lounge will feature navy blue and brass tones which will help preserve its intimate atmosphere. It will also include new seating and a revamped bar area.<\/p>\n

The revamp will also see ten bedrooms transformed into Signature guestrooms, featuring rich textures, curated artwork, and an overall \u2018sense of opulence\u2019. The revamp will be completed and unveiled in April, and is being conducted to preserve and enhance the original building\u2019s heritage.<\/p>\n
