You\u2019d be hard pushed not to feel emotional with a visit to The National Memorial Arboretum<\/strong>. Just 30 minutes from Birmingham, there are over 400 memorials<\/strong> honouring those who have served and sacrificed. But, during the festive period, these already mesmerising woodlands become extra moving.<\/p>\n Among an overwhelming 25,000 trees, Illuminated Arboretum<\/strong> lets you discover our fallen heroes\u2019 extraordinary stories through colour, light, and sound. Throughout Christmas (December 5 to 22), this 1.5-mile-long trail<\/a> with a difference<\/strong> brings the National Forest to \u2018light\u2019 after hours with kaleidoscopic colour.<\/p>\n From fun hands-on elements and immersive spaces<\/strong> to quieter areas for personal reflection<\/strong>, these dazzling installations provide an emotional journey that all ages can enjoy. This year, Illuminated Arboretum marks 80 years since the end of the Second World War<\/strong> and will shine a special light on pivotal moments from the year 1945.<\/p>\n Previous highlights have included the Beacons of Light that reached high into the night sky<\/strong> at the Armed Forces Memorial; Flowers of Remembrance, a beautiful indoor garden<\/strong> featuring hundreds of flowers; and Archway of Hope, a piece created by social collectives and willow artist Nita Rao. <\/p>\n Stay warm as you wander these dazzling lights, with a wide selection of festive foods<\/strong> available as you wander around\u2014tuck into everything from German-style sausages to waffles, hot chocolate and mulled wine. Or pop into the on-site restaurant<\/strong> for pizzas, fries, soups, churros, sandwiches, cakes and more.<\/p>\n When can I visit? <\/b> <\/p>\n Entry to the Illuminated Arboretum is from December 5 to 22<\/strong>, between 4.30pm and 6.45pm (7pm on peak evenings), with relaxed sessions held at 4.30pm<\/strong> on evenings between December 8 to 10 and 14 to 17.
