{"id":607491,"date":"2025-12-02T13:49:14","date_gmt":"2025-12-02T13:49:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/607491\/"},"modified":"2025-12-02T13:49:14","modified_gmt":"2025-12-02T13:49:14","slug":"new-study-reveals-bristol-as-the-nations-concert-capital","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/607491\/","title":{"rendered":"New study reveals Bristol as the nation\u2019s concert capital"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By <strong>Sophie Scannell<\/strong>, Music Editor<\/p>\n<p><strong>From figures calculated in October 2025, an exponential increase in music tourism across the UK prompted experts at <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fanatix.com\/?ref=epigram.org.uk\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Fanatix<\/strong><\/a><strong>, a leading event ticketing platform, to conduct research to see whereabouts these music lovers are reigning.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A score for each city out of ten is calculated by considering Google Ads to gather average monthly search volumes for terms like \u2018concerts\u2019, \u2018gigs near me\u2019, \u2018live music\u2019, \u2018music festivals\u2019, and so on.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/Screenshot-2025-12-02-104852-1.png\" class=\"kg-image\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1740\" height=\"501\"  \/>Ranking of the most \u2018concert-obsessed\u2019 cities in the UK | <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fanatix.com\/?ref=epigram.org.uk\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Fanatix<\/a><\/p>\n<p>All data was then normalised and calculated per 100,000 to be proportionate to the city&#8217;s population, eventually landing each city with a score out of ten that encompasses its concentration of venues, how often shows are put on, and how many people are eager to go.<\/p>\n<p>So, how did we fare? Bristol ranked an impressive fourth place with a score of 8.74, not far behind first-placers, Leeds, with a score of 8.82, and slotting in just above the country\u2019s capital, London.<\/p>\n<p>These hugely impressive stats put Bristol in and amongst other titan cities in the UK, and leading for concerts per capita, with a whopping 109. Bristol monthly searches for music events are 850 (118 per 100k), making \u2018Bristol a hub for both mainstream and alternative live music\u2019.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"kg-bookmark-container\" href=\"https:\/\/epigram.org.uk\/society-spotlight-jfs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><\/p>\n<p>Society Spotlight | JFS<\/p>\n<p>By Annabel Bienfait, Community Editor This month, we got in touch with Bristol\u2019s Jazz Funk Soul (JFS) Society. They showcase incredible student talent at their weekly jam nights, while drawing big<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/DSCF0047.jpg\" alt=\"\" onerror=\"this.style.display = 'none'\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson from Fanatix has concluded that \u2018these concert-obsessed cities are key influencers of the thriving live music scene both now and in the future\u2019. The passion for live music is now not just London-centric, and it is time other areas of the UK were given its flowers for their undeniable contribution to the country\u2019s live music scene.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s apparent that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ukmusic.org\/news\/taylor-swift-and-charli-xcx-help-attract-record-23-5-million-music-tourists-to-uk-music-events-new-report-reveals\/?ref=epigram.org.uk#:~:text=You%20are%20here,which%20you%20can%20read%20here.\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">concert culture is on the rise<\/a>, and, thankfully, showing no signs of slowing down. What\u2019s more is that, from these stats, we seem to be in one of the best spots for it.
