Manufacturing output increased by 9.1 per cent over the same period.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">The rosy picture on the domestic front was in stark contrast to India\u2019s external trade outlook. The country\u2019s merchandise exports fell by 11.8 per cent to US$34.4 billion in October. Shipments to the US declined by 8.5 per cent \u2013 a second straight month of contraction.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">In response to the slowdown in its exports, India has been stepping up diversification into new markets.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">N.R.
