A popular Manchester venue is set to close its doors this Christmas<\/a> ahead of a major undertaking which will see it reopen next year as a new food hall.<\/p>\n

Ducie Street Warehouse is situated in the former London Warehouse building in the city centre, near Piccadilly Train Station, which was built in 1867 to store cotton bales for the cotton trade. Initially intended for use by the Manchester, Sheffield & Lincolnshire Railway (MS&LR), the Grade II-listed building has recently become known for its 194-bed aparthotel, restaurants, gym and bar.<\/p>\n

In September, it was announced that the warehouse\u2019s ground floor<\/a> had been eyed up for a new food hall project – from the team behind Edinburgh Street Food – which would see it become home to ten kitchens, two bars and a huge seating area. Its existing cinema is set to remain in place.<\/p>\n

With the proposals set to commence and with an opening highlighted for sometime next year, the team behind Ducie Street Warehouse have now confirmed that it will close on December 15 this year. But before that, the venue will host \u2018one final celebration\u2019 in the form of a free Last Night of Ducie Street party on December 12.<\/p>\n

Running from 7.30pm to 11.30pm, the party will feature a line-up of local talent including Gareth James, Reisner, Nathan Burroughs b2b Emile, and Mix-Stress b2b Sharples. The party will also include a range of special drink offers, including \u00a35 pints, \u00a34 wine, \u00a36 cocktails and more.<\/p>\n

Organisers of the event have teased that it will be a \u2018big and messy toast\u2019 to what\u2019s in the pipeline. A listing for the event said: \u201cJoin us for one last free party at Ducie Street Warehouse. Ducie Street is getting a little makeover, with a new concept coming in Spring 2026. But we hit pause, we’re throwing one final Ducie Street party!<\/p>\n
